| SBSS Junior Sailors Busy With National Championships |
| The summer holidays have seen several of our junior sailors heading off to National championships in various states of Australia.
Clare Cromarty crewing for Adrian Beswick competed in Perth in the B 14 championships, finishing in 4th position overall.
Ryan Moreton representing Tasmania for the first time competed at the Sabot Nationals in Southport Queensland.
Chloe Fisher, Jack Waldron, and Will Evans are on their way to the Optimist National Championships in Queensland. | The parent-child Pacer race has been postponed until Sunday Feb 12th 2012 owing to the lack of competition available for the original date. There will be a working bee at Beauty Point prior to this. |

| Helly Hansen Melbourne to Launceston Yacht Race Series |

The Helly Hansen M2L yacht race series concluded yesterday with the running of the Tamar Yacht Club Classic inshore race. Ten of the Victorian yachts that had competed in the3 M2L yacht race participated in the race conducted at Beauty Point. Conditions were ideal with a steady 12 to 15 knot sea breeze.
Line Honours went to the crew of Arch Rival a Jones 40 skippered by John Hall from the Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron. They were narrowly beaten on handicap by overall winner Merlion, owned by Eddie and Trish Mackevicius from the Hobsons Bay Yacht Club.
Following yesterday's racing a presentation dinner was held at the Tamar Yacht Club at Beauty Point for 90 sailors and support crew. Merlion, a Beneteau 40.7 was the overall winner of the Bass Straight Trophy which is awarded to the boat which performs best in the 3 race series including the Cock of the Bay held on Boxing Day, the M2L race and the TYC Classic. The winner of the prestigious Rudder Cup for handicap honours in the M2L race was Stephen Carey owner of the Dufour 38 Deja Vu from the Royal Yacht Club of Victoria. Arch Rival was the Line Honours winner of the M2L in a 14 boat fleet and was presented with the Tichenor trophy.
